This is a field-based role for someone who enjoys working closely with scientists, understanding how labs operate, and helping improve real-world workflows.
We’re partnering with an established organization in the life sciences tools space that is expanding its presence across the Midwest. They’re looking for a commercially driven, technically credible individual who can take ownership of a territory and build strong, long-term relationships with customers.
You’ll spend the majority of your time in front of clients—learning how they work, identifying gaps, and helping implement solutions that make a measurable difference.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own and grow a multi-state Midwest territory, managing both existing relationships and new business opportunities
- Engage directly with scientists and lab teams to understand workflows, challenges, and priorities
- Lead technical discussions, product presentations, and in-person demonstrations
- Provide hands-on support and practical guidance within laboratory environments when needed
- Build and expand relationships across pharmaceutical, CRO, academic, and applied labs
- Develop new opportunities while maintaining a strong presence within existing accounts
- Collaborate with internal teams to support more complex customer needs
- Manage your pipeline, forecasting, and activity tracking with a high level of organization
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in a customer-facing role within life sciences (technical sales, applications, or similar)
- Hands-on exposure to analytical or chemistry-based lab environments
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and build credibility with scientific users
- A self-directed, proactive approach—you’re comfortable managing your own time and territory
- Strong interpersonal skills and a practical, solutions-oriented mindset
Preferred Background
- Experience working with or supporting analytical lab workflows
- Exposure to instrumentation, consumables, or laboratory-based solutions
- Prior experience managing accounts or contributing to revenue growth
Travel
- Regular travel across the Midwest (approximately 50–70%)
- Frequent on-site customer visits with occasional overnight travel
