Symbiotica is partnered with a high-growth, venture-backed life sciences technology proteomics leader that is redefining how biopharma organizations access and apply high-content biological data across drug discovery and development.

Following strong commercial momentum and increasing adoption across major pharmaceutical organizations, our client is seeking a senior individual contributor to own and expand strategic relationships across global biopharma accounts. This is a high-impact commercial role for someone who understands how large pharma evaluates new technologies, datasets, discovery inputs, and strategic platform investments.

This is not a transactional sales role. The successful candidate will be responsible for building multi-site, multi-stakeholder account strategies across major pharmaceutical organizations, engaging senior scientific and commercial leaders, and expanding relationships from initial opportunities into broader, repeatable business.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly into the VP of Sales, you will own and grow a portfolio of established and developing biopharma accounts. You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, expanding account penetration, and positioning the company as a strategic partner to discovery and R&D teams.

The role carries a global account mandate, requiring coordination across sites, countries, functions, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be comfortable navigating complex pharmaceutical organizations, building credibility with senior scientific leaders, and operating with a high level of independence in a fast-scaling commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and grow strategic relationships across major global biopharma accounts.
  • Develop and execute account plans across multiple sites, geographies, business units, and stakeholder groups.
  • Identify and drive new business opportunities within drug discovery and early development environments.
  • Engage credibly with senior stakeholders, including discovery leaders, platform heads, CSOs, SVPs, scientific champions, and commercial/procurement teams.
  • Build relationships across discovery, translational, biology, platform technology, and strategic innovation groups.
  • Expand customer relationships from individual projects into broader, repeatable, multi-team or multi-site business.
  • Partner closely with internal scientific, technical, and commercial teams to shape customer strategy and support complex opportunities.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as commercially required, including multi-country visits to major pharma sites.
  • Represent the company’s technology and commercial strategy with confidence, scientific fluency, and strong business judgment.

Ideal Background

  • Strong commercial experience selling into pharmaceutical and biopharma organizations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of drug discovery and development, with a preference for candidates who have sold into early discovery, target discovery, screening, biology, imaging, assay development, platform technology, or discovery services environments.
  • Experience managing or contributing to key account strategies across large, complex pharma organizations.
  • A track record of expanding customer relationships beyond single projects or individual lab opportunities.
  • Ability to engage senior scientific and commercial stakeholders in strategic, consultative conversations.
  • Experience coordinating multi-site or global account strategies is strongly preferred.
  • Backgrounds in discovery platforms, imaging, high-content screening, early-stage biology tools, CRO/CDMO services, scientific services, or strategic life science technology sales are highly relevant.
  • PhD is not required; however, those without a PhD should bring strong technical fluency and meaningful pharma-facing commercial experience.

Why This Role

  • Join a company with strong commercial momentum and increasing visibility across the biopharma market.
  • Play a meaningful role in expanding strategic adoption within major global pharmaceutical organizations.
  • Work closely with senior leadership in a high-access, high-impact commercial environment.
  • Represent a differentiated life sciences technology platform with strong relevance to modern discovery and R&D decision-making.
  • Take ownership of complex, high-value accounts at a stage where commercial strategy is still being actively shaped.

Location

This role is remote within the United States, with flexibility on location provided the candidate is comfortable with domestic and international travel. Proximity to major biopharma hubs such as Cambridge, Bay Area, San Diego, Chicago, or similar markets may be beneficial but is not required.
