Symbiotica has partnered with a high-growth, venture-backed life sciences technology company developing a differentiated platform for biopharma research and development.

Following continued commercial growth and increasing adoption across major pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations, our client is seeking a senior Key Account Manager to support the expansion of strategic biopharma relationships across the United States and international markets.

This is a high-impact commercial role for a senior individual contributor who is comfortable navigating complex customer organizations, building relationships across multiple stakeholder groups, and expanding customer engagement from initial opportunities into broader, repeatable business.

The Opportunity

You will own and grow a portfolio of established and developing biopharma accounts, working closely with internal commercial, scientific, and technical teams to identify new opportunities and support long-term customer growth.

This role is well-suited to a commercially driven professional who understands consultative life sciences sales, complex account development, and the importance of building trusted relationships across scientific, operational, and commercial decision-makers.

The successful candidate will bring strong business judgment, scientific fluency, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-scaling environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and expand strategic relationships across pharmaceutical and biotechnology accounts.
  • Develop and execute account plans across multiple customer sites, functions, and stakeholder groups.
  • Identify, qualify, and drive new business opportunities within biopharma research and development environments.
  • Build relationships with scientific, technical, commercial, and procurement stakeholders.
  • Expand customer relationships from initial projects into broader, multi-team or multi-site opportunities.
  • Partner closely with internal scientific, technical, marketing, product, and commercial teams to support complex customer needs.
  • Deliver consultative presentations and discussions that clearly communicate customer value.
  • Maintain disciplined account planning, forecasting, CRM hygiene, and structured follow-up.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as commercially required.
  • Represent the company with professionalism, credibility, and strong commercial judgment.

Ideal Background

  • Strong commercial experience selling into pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences organizations.
  • Experience managing or contributing to strategic account plans across complex customer organizations.
  • A track record of developing new opportunities and expanding customer relationships beyond individual projects or single-site engagements.
  • Ability to engage scientific and commercial stakeholders in consultative, value-driven conversations.
  • Experience working with differentiated life sciences technologies, platforms, tools, services, or data-driven solutions.
  • Comfort operating in a high-growth environment where priorities may evolve quickly.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in a relevant life sciences field preferred but not required.

Why This Role

  • Join a fast-growing life sciences company with strong commercial momentum.
  • Play a meaningful role in expanding strategic adoption across major biopharma customers.
  • Work closely with senior leadership in a visible, high-impact commercial position.
  • Represent a differentiated technology platform with strong relevance to modern biopharma R&D.
  • Take ownership of complex accounts at a stage where commercial strategy is continuing to scale.

Location

This role is remote within the United States, with flexibility on location provided the candidate is comfortable with domestic and international travel. Proximity to major biopharma hubs may be beneficial but is not required.
