An innovative and rapidly growing biotech focused on advancing biomolecular interaction analysis are continuing expand their footprint in the U.S.
As part of continued U.S. expansion, they are seeking a Field Application Scientist to support and grow their presence across the West Coast, with a strong focus on the Bay Area.You will play a central role in supporting regional sales efforts, engaging directly with customers throughout the evaluation process, and helping drive adoption of a differentiated analytical platform.
You will design and execute demonstrations, present data-driven insights, and guide customers through implementation and ongoing use. In parallel, you will contribute to account development and act as a key technical partner to the commercial team.
This role also offers the opportunity to influence product and application development by providing direct feedback from customers and real-world use cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Support regional sales activities and contribute to the development of key accounts
- Partner closely with the commercial team to achieve territory and company growth objectives
- Design and execute instrument demonstrations (both in-house and onsite), including experimental planning and data analysis
- Present technical results and application insights to prospective and existing customers
- Deliver pre-sales activities including customer meetings, seminars, and workshops
- Lead post-sales support including installations, user training, and application troubleshooting
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers across biotech, pharma, and CRO environments
- Provide feedback to internal teams to support product and application development
What We’re Looking For
- PhD or MSc in biophysics, structural biology, molecular biology, or a related discipline
- Hands-on experience with biomolecular interaction analysis or binding assays, including techniques such as SPR, BLI, or related platforms
- Strong understanding of binding kinetics, affinity measurements, and protein interaction workflows
- Experience communicating scientific data to diverse audiences, including external stakeholders
- Ability to operate effectively in customer-facing and commercially driven environments
- Self-sufficient, proactive mindset with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced setting
Preferred Experience
- Prior Field Application Scientist experience
- Experience in CRO environments or working directly with external clients
- Background in biologics, antibody discovery, or drug development workflows
Additional Details
- Location: Bay Area (proximity to South San Francisco preferred)
- Travel: Approximately 25–35%, including customer visits, conferences, and installations
- Compensation: Competitive base salary with performance-based bonus and commission structure
